From a small community where we would study art in more seriousness. I’m happy I grinded these with a community, rather than doing them alone. Working under time pressure and knowing I have to share them afterwards made me focus a lot.

While other people studied bargue, composition or values, I tried to understand why the original artist did the piece the way they did, and tried to replicate their brushwork, textures, etc. At some point I stopped learning or gaining any value and tried to do original work based on the given piece; but felt limiting, and didn’t want my own style to shift and mix (which inevitably did for some time).

These come to an end. The server is no longer operational, and I realized that I don’t need more of these (or similar), since my original pieces themselves include large amounts of studying in them.
